Last year wasn’t particularly a big success. As I was welcoming the new one, I had (and still do) high hopes of it, but at the same time, I couldn’t help having feelings of uncertainty and anxiety about all the things (predictable or otherwise) which will happen in the course of the next 365 days.
There was no party last night. T. and I were having tea and watching films on my laptop. At midnight some fireworks could be seen outside the window, but nothing special. I promised myself just one thing: the next New Year’s Eve I will spend under the sky in a big city watching a fireworks’ display, getting drunk and having lots of fun.
Ten years ago today the euro was launched and today is also the day when Slovakia joined the common currency. Happy Birthday :)
A special commemorative coins will be issued this year to mark the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the euro:
